Southeastern Theatre Conference
The Southeastern Theatre Conference was founded in 1949 and is a member of the American Association of Community Theatre (AACT) . SETC focuses on the ten southeastern states, Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Virginia. They also claim to be “the largest and most active regional theatre organization in the country.” 
The SETC hosts an annual convention that happens every year in early March. You must register for the convention, but you are allowed to register at the convention itself for at a greater cost. Attending the convention is a mix of industry professionals, colleges, and high schools. 
At the convention plays are shown off that come from both High Schools and the winner of each of the individual southeastern states Theatre Conferences . At the convention there are also various workshops related to theatre, a keynote speaker, and a job fair for any position in theatre. Awards and scholarships are given out for the various design competitions, such as best new play, or best costume, scenic, or lighting design.
The SETC convention also acts as a career fair for job and internship seekers. Anybody can register for the career fair, if you register in time. The SETC website also hosts an online job listings, where anyone can go and look for available positions. 
There is also a biannual actor auditioning event hosted by the SETC, one in the fall for professional actors, and one during the annual convention for both professional actors, and college/nonprofessional actors. 
The Southeastern Theatre Conference also hosts an annual Theatre Symposium, which is a “two-day conference focused on a scholarly topic related to theatre.”
The Southeastern Theatre Conference publishes a few things related to theatre. 
- A quarterly magazine called Southern Theatre, which covers theatre in the Southeastern United States.
- The SETC Newsletter is published twice a month and focuses on the SETC annual events.
- The Theatre Symposium is an annual publication that features papers that relate to the topic covered by that year’s SECTC Theatre Symposium event.
- The SETC also released a book called Outside the Box: 25 Design-Tech Strategies to Save You Time and Money, the book is a collection of articles published in the Outside the Box column featured in the SETC magazine Southern Theatre.
